what we wore
Survivors are often asked about what they wore on the night of their assault, as if their choice of clothing is to blame for the loss of their human rights.
Our project tries to highlight that an individual's appearance or clothing is never a justification or reason for assault. We also feel that by focusing on inanimate objects, it will be easier for others to relate.
All survivors interviewed were undergraduate students in Central Virgina between the ages of 19-22; all are women of color; many of them are low-income.
